Committed to creating and maintaining a sustainable future
Our clients are tackling some of the world’s greatest challenges whilst maintaining their commitment to delivering the cleanest energy. They are building resilient infrastructure in the face of climate change and are working to safeguard natural resources, decrease their environmental footprint and create greater digital connectivity for all.
Our key focus is supporting our clients to create a lasting positive legacy that includes protecting the environment, creating economic growth and making a difference in the world.
We believe sustainability makes great business sense and vitally important to create continuous operational efficiency, whilst constantly improving the environmental performance of our services and in pursuing low carbon energy solutions and strategically investing for growth for the long term.
We have introduced a structured life-cycle assessment model to measure and map climate-related risks across our business. We also conduct regular materiality assessments to understand the most significant environmental, social and corporate governance topics across our business over the short, medium and long term.
We monitor risks and prioritise opportunities by taking into account client and stakeholder expectations, voluntary practices and regulations, industry best practices, trends in financial and sustainability reporting, and emerging topics in news and social media.
Some of our current highest priority sustainability issues are:
Climate change, energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transportation.
Responsible employment and best practices, including human rights and the safety and wellbeing of our people.
Fair and inclusive workplaces, including talent and development.
Waste, recycling and the circular economy.
Our Perspective
Human Capital
Human capital management is at the core of our business and this is how we create value for individuals, organisations and communities. Every year, we connect people to meaningful work across a wide variety of skills in the energy industries, helping to power the success of organisations around the world while providing individuals with opportunities to build skills for the future and achieve their potential.
Today, organisations are transforming faster than they ever imagined possible, reinforcing the need for a skills revolution now more than ever, and the role we can play in closing the skills gap. Our success in creating value for individuals and organisations depends on our ability to unleash the potential of our own people.
Ethics & Governance
As a company whose purpose is to connect people with meaningful and sustainable work, we understand the importance of trust and transparency and are proud to set a high standard for our industry.
Human Rights & Fair Employment
At PTR we’ve been connecting people to work and helping them develop skills to stay employable for the long-term. This way they can support their families, contribute to their communities and achieve their career goals.
By respecting and promoting internationally proclaimed human rights, we can ensure that work is a source of dignity and purpose, as well as income, for the people we have working for us.
Diversity, Equality, Inclusion & Belonging
As an organisation, with employees, candidates and clients from every background, we value and encourage the broadest range of perspectives and capabilities and everything this commitment to diversity brings to our organisation and to our stakeholders.
We define diversity as differences of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, cultural background, gender, age, disability, caste, marital status, union membership, political affiliation, pregnancy, health, sexual orientation and gender identity.
We are committed to do all we can to fight racism and to strengthen diversity, equality, inclusion and belonging within our company, and within the communities where we live and operate. We also know, from our vast experience in labour markets across the world, that we must engage and include all available talent and ignite human potential to sustainably grow prosperity around the world. It is the right thing to do, and it is what we must do to prosper.
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
Every company has a responsibility to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of its people. We put many people to work each year so we know that when people feel safe, engagement is hugely increased, they stay longer and develop more skills and experience that benefit everyone. Since the health crisis caused by COVID-19, it’s more imperative than ever for people to feel safe and secure in a healthy work environment.
Our success is underpinned by our commitment to protecting our people and our clients who support our operations. Our ethos of safe working underlies and sustains the performance of our entire workforce. Safety is one of our core values and we strive to embed a safety-first mindset with our people and their families.
Our company is only as healthy as our people. PTR is committed to an enterprise-wide focus on health and safety practices among our people, on and off the job. We all know that the foundation of a sustainable company is safe and healthy people.
Mitigating health and safety risk is our top priority. We actively promote a culture that values people’s health and wellbeing and we enforce strict safety protocols. Taking care of the health and safety of our people is extremely important for us all at PTR.
Sourcing
Our organisation works with a number of clients and our reach is extensive therefore we take this responsibility seriously.
By setting high standards for our extended network, we can amplify our sustainability impact and drive social change: improving transparency, reducing exposure to risk for ourselves and our clients, raising standards and positively impacting the lives of our people.
Information Security & Data Privacy
As technology evolves and we adopt new tools and expand our use of data and analytics to deliver more value to clients and candidates, we are committed to being good stewards of the information entrusted to us.
In the wake of COVID-19, the mass migration to remote working and rapid digitisation of processes requires even greater prioritisation of information security and privacy.
Environment
Climate change -- severe weather events, extreme temperatures, water shortages and other environmental concerns are impacting people’s ability to live and work safely. Organisations have an important role to play, together with public sector and society in general, to solve these challenges and ensure a sustainable future for all.
As a professional services company our environmental impact has always been relatively small. We are however committed to continually adjusting our business model to support even more sustainable ways of working and we are constantly looking for new ways to advance the objectives of the European Green Deal, especially in the areas of jobs and skills, where we can have the greatest impact.
